Advanced settings
Fine tuning for the barrel tracker's on-screen look, audio timing, ballistics, and skeet-specific rules. Most ranges set these once at install and rarely touch them again — a few affect scoring, so change them deliberately.
Where this fits
Open Configuration from the main screen, then the Advanced tab. These are system-wide settings. Press Apply to save, Cancel to discard and return to the main menu, or Reset to restore the standard defaults.
Install-time territory. Several of these were set for your venue when the system was commissioned. If you're not sure what a setting does, leave it — and use Reset if something starts behaving unexpectedly.
Tracker & display
How the barrel tracker draws on screen. Needs barrel-tracking hardware to be visible.
- Show lead indicator Draws an indicator showing your lead on the target — a coaching aid for seeing how far ahead you're pointing.
- Tracker type How the barrel trace is drawn: Dots or a continuous Line.
- Tracker color/size The trace's colour and thickness: 1-pixel or 2-pixel, in Yellow or Magenta. Pick whatever reads best against your backgrounds. This is stored on the machine itself, not per shooter.
Audio
Sound timing.
- Random sound off Occasionally suppresses the throw sound, so you can't rely on hearing the machine to time your call.
- Sound to throw delay The gap between the call sound and the clay actually launching.
Ballistics & weather
Physics tuning that affects how targets fly and break. These influence scoring, so treat them as install-time settings.
- Wind calm height The height below which wind has no effect — keeps low targets steady even with wind enabled.
- Clay weight offset Adjusts the simulated clay weight, which changes how it carries and how easily it breaks.
- Shot size adjustment (pellet cloud) Scales the pellet cloud from 60% to 140% (100% is standard). Larger makes hits more forgiving, smaller makes them stricter.
Skeet
Skeet-specific tuning. House offset, lights-out delay, and the speed/spread switches affect the skeet discipline only.
- Skeet house offset (shift crossing point) Shifts where the two houses' targets cross. Options run from No offset through High house −1 to −3 and +1 to +3.
- Lights out to throw delay The delay between the indicator light going out and the clay launching. The right value depends on your machine's electronics.
- Dynamic speed Varies clay speed for less predictable targets.
- Extreme spread Widens the range of target angles for a harder course.
- Use initial halo Shows a halo on the target at launch.
- Random halo off Occasionally drops the halo, so you can't rely on it.
| Lights-out delay | Matching electronics |
|---|---|
| 100 | Elfipa electronics, regular lights (used by Matarelli) |
| 130 | Elfipa with LED lights, or newer Beomat systems with regular lights |
| 160 | Newer Beomat systems with LED lights |
| −100 | Older Beomat systems (lamp goes out after the clay has left) |
Matching the delay to your machine. The lights-out delay lines the on-screen launch up with your real trap electronics. Use the table above as a starting point for your make, then fine-tune if the timing feels off.
Quick start
- Open Configuration → Advanced.
- Set the tracker type and colour so the trace reads well on your screens.
- Leave ballistics at defaults unless you have a reason to change them.
- Set the skeet lights-out delay to match your trap electronics (see table).
- Press Apply.
Advanced settings user guide. These are system-wide and mostly set at installation. Ballistics and pellet-cloud settings affect scoring for everyone; use Reset to restore defaults. Contact TrueClays support with your System ID for help.
