The Skeet expert panel

An in-range control panel for coaches and serious shooters. Change the look of the range, slow the clay down to study a break, switch on training aids, and set up single-station practice on any stand — all without leaving the skeet layout.

Opening and closing

The panel opens over the skeet range and pauses nothing — the range stays as it was. Press Close at the bottom to go back to shooting. Starting a training session also closes it automatically.

Everything is live. Buttons turn green while their function is on, so the panel doubles as a status display. Changes take effect immediately — there's no Apply button here.

Range & display

The top row of switches, plus a shortcut into gun calibration.

  • Flash clays Makes a broken clay flash so hits read clearly at a distance.
  • Thrower sound Plays the machine sound when a clay is launched. Turn it off to stop shooters timing the call by ear.
  • ISSF house lights Shows the ISSF-style indicator lights on the high and low houses.
  • Gun calibration Jumps straight to the calibration test target for the current shooter and closes the panel. Handy when a shooter's hits start landing consistently off.

Slowmotion speed

Ten buttons from 10% to 100% set how fast the range runs. Drop to 20–30% to watch a clay's line and where the pattern meets it; 100% is normal speed.

Coaching use. Slow motion is the quickest way to show a shooter what "behind it" actually looked like. This will allow to slow down the clay but with retaining the amount of lead that is normally needed, so you can show them in slow motion. Remember to set it back to 100% before scoring anything that matters.

Visual aids

Reference objects drawn into the range to help a shooter learn the layout.

  • Hold point ruler Shows a ruler along the target line so you can talk about hold points in concrete terms rather than "about here".
  • Show hoop Displays the hoop the clay must pass through — useful for teaching the window and the break point.
  • Hide end of line stakes Removes the end-of-line stakes for a cleaner view of the flight path.
  • Snow Adds falling snow — a realistic visibility challenge, and a change of scene.
  • Night shooting Switches the range to night with the floodlights on: sun off, sky black, spotlights lit. Press again to return to daylight.

Backgrounds & houses

Change where you're shooting. Backgrounds are real ranges and scenery; houses are the high/low house structures themselves.

  • Filter background on country Narrows the background lists to one country — Argentina through USA — or All countries. Set this first when you're looking for a specific ground.
  • Background (Named sets) Curated combinations: pick one and the scenery and houses are set together as a matched set.
  • Background (free selection) Pick any background on its own, ignoring the named sets.
  • Houses (free selection) Pick the house design independently of the background — for example the houses your home club uses, on a different ground.

Special training

Two per-session training modes that change what the shooter sees of the target.

  • NVT Switches the Neurological Visual Trainer on or off from inside the range. Its detailed settings live in Configuration — globally on the Training tab, and per station per shooter on the shooter's NVT page.
  • HALO Toggles the halo training aid for this session.

Sky settings

Change the light and weather to match what you want to practise in.

  • Toggle fog Steps fog density up each press, then clears it — a quick visibility challenge.
  • Toggle sun position Cycles the sun through its positions. Use it to put the sun where it troubles the shooter, or to get it out of the way.
  • Toggle day sky Cycles through the daytime skies.
  • Toggle night sky Cycles through the night skies.

Replay & microphone

  • Auto replay all Plays a replay after every shot.
  • Auto replay misses only Plays a replay only when the target wasn't broken — keeps a session moving while still showing the mistakes.
  • Toggle tracerlines on replay Draws the clay's flight path on the replay so the line is easy to see.
  • Disable microphone Stops the microphone listening for calls — useful in a noisy room or when you're releasing targets manually.

Quick change shooter

Swaps the active shooter without leaving the range. Picking a name here puts that shooter on their own in the squad, using their saved profile, chokes and calibration.

It replaces the squad. Quick change sets the chosen shooter as the only one shooting. If you were running a squad of several, rebuild it from the main screen afterwards.

Skeet training

Set up focused practice on a single stand — the reason most people open this panel. A shooter who keeps losing station 4 high can stand there and shoot it until it's fixed.

1

Choose the targets

Pick High house, Low house, or Pair. High and low can each be switched on or off; Pair turns both on at once.

On a pair the system throws them in the correct order for the stand you've chosen, just as in a real round.

2

Choose the clay speed

Olympic/International, American/English, or German Hunters. This sets the discipline's timing and speed for the practice round, so you can train to the rules you actually compete under.

3

Choose the stand

Stands 1 to 8, with the split stations listed separately: Stand 4 High and 4 Low, Stand 8 High and 8 Low. Stand 3 Rev and Stand 5 Rev throw the pair in reversed order for shooters who want to practise the sequence the other way round.

4

Start training

Press Start training. The range is cleared, the scoreboard is reset, and every shooter in the squad is put on the chosen stand with the chosen targets. The panel closes so you can shoot.

Nothing happens if neither high nor low house is selected — choose at least one target first.

Placement adjustment

Fine-tunes where the shooter stands on a station and which way the view faces. Settings are saved per shooter, per stand, so each shooter gets their own preferred position and view.

  • Stand selector Choose which station you're adjusting. Everything below applies to that station.
  • Camera angle adjustment (single stand) Slider, −45° to +45° Turns the view left or right for this station. The range turns as you drag, so you can see exactly what the shooter will see. Press Save angle to keep it.
  • Set all angles to maximum view Sets every station to the widest view in one press — a quick way to reset after experimenting, or to give a beginner as much of the layout as possible.
  • Forward / Center stake — stand placement A 3×3 grid of positions Sets where the shooter stands on the station: Center is the normal position, and the surrounding cells shift them forward, back, left or right. The chosen cell is marked in red.

Press Save angle before you leave. The slider is a live preview. Closing the panel without saving returns the station to its stored angle.

Quick start

  1. Open the expert panel from the skeet range.
  2. Pick High house, Low house or Pair.
  3. Choose the clay speed and the stand.
  4. Press Start training — the panel closes and you're on that station.
  5. Reopen it any time to slow the clay down, change the sky, or move to another stand.
