Remote Coaching

Send your shots — with a synced video of yourself shooting — to your coach, anywhere in the world.

Your coach, on every shot.

With Remote Coaching, a trainee sends recorded targets directly from the simulator to their coach — each recording is one shot sequence, a single or a double — optionally together with a phone video filmed while shooting it.

The coach reviews the session inside TrueClays with the trainee's video playing in perfect sync next to the replay, and sends written feedback straight back to the trainee's simulator.

Both trainee and coach need a free account on cloud.trueclays.com — register on the website first.

The phone video is matched to the replay automatically from the sound of the shots. The video starts at the moment the clay is thrown and follows the replay's slow motion exactly — when the replay reaches the shot, the coach sees the trainee fire at that same instant.

For the Trainee

From first sign-in to feedback from your coach.

Sign in (once per shooter profile)

With your shooter profile active, open Configuration → Shooter Profile → Coaching Panel. Enter the e-mail of your cloud.trueclays.com account and press Sign in. The panel shows a code such as TANGO-4821.

On any device, log in to cloud.trueclays.com with the same e-mail — a green banner shows your code. Press Approve, and within a few seconds the simulator signs in automatically.

The code is valid for 10 minutes — if it expires, just press Sign in again.

Connect to your coach

Ask your coach for an invite code (valid 48 hours, single use). In the Coaching Panel under My Coach, enter the code and press Check code. Verify the coach's name and e-mail, then press Request connection. Once your coach approves, the status changes to connected.

Film yourself (optional but recommended)

Film yourself with a phone while you shoot. Each recording covers one shot sequence — a single or a double — so a short clip per target is all it takes. Start filming before you call for the bird and keep filming until after your last shot at that target. Frame yourself so the coach can see your stance, mount and swing.

The shots must be clearly audible. The video is synced to the replay from the sound of your shots, so make sure the phone can hear the simulator audio well — turn the simulator volume up if needed, and avoid talking or loud background noise over the shots. Clear shot sound is the single most important thing for an accurate sync.
Any phone, any orientation, 4K is fine — the server converts the video automatically.

Send the target

Shoot as normal — every target is recorded individually. Open View Replays, select the target you want your coach to see and press Send to Coach. Add a note if you like ("working on my hold point at station 4").

After sending, the simulator shows a QR code. Scan it with the phone you filmed with, pick the video on the upload page that opens, and upload. The server matches the video to the replay automatically within a minute or two.

Trim the clip on your phone before uploading. Using your phone's built-in trim to cut down to just the call, swing and shots makes the upload smaller and faster — and a tight clip makes the automatic sync detection even more reliable.
No video? Skip the QR step — your coach can still review the replay on its own.

Get feedback

When your coach has reviewed the session, their notes appear on the session in your sent list. You own your sessions — you can delete a sent session at any time, and it disappears from the coach's inbox too.

For the Coach

A coach license is required in the simulator for the coach functions to appear. Without it, the Coaching Panel shows only the trainee side.

Sign in

Identical to the trainee sign-in: Configuration → Shooter Profile → Coaching Panel, enter your e-mail, approve the code on cloud.trueclays.com.

Connect your trainees

Press Create invite code and give the code to your trainee — each code is valid 48 hours and works for one trainee. When the trainee requests a connection, it appears under My Trainees with Approve / Reject buttons. Press Approve, and the trainee can start sending you sessions.

You can remove a trainee at any time with the Remove button.

Review a session

In any module, press Coaching Inbox (next to View Replays). New sessions are flagged — select one to read the trainee's note, then press Play.

The replay opens as usual. If the trainee uploaded a phone video, it appears in a small window, automatically synced: it starts at the throw, follows the replay's slow motion exactly, and shows the trainee firing at the same instant the replay reaches the shot. Cycle the window size and mute/unmute as you like.

Send feedback

Write your comments in the feedback field and press Save. The trainee sees your notes on their sent session in their simulator.

Built for Shared Machines

Clubs and national teams run many shooters on one simulator — Remote Coaching is designed for exactly that.

  • Sign-in is per shooter profile: switching the active shooter switches the cloud account, coach connection and inbox along with it.
  • Several shooters on the same machine can each have their own coach — or different coaches.
  • Use Sign out in the Coaching Panel on machines you don't control.

Mutual Approval, Trainee-Owned Data

Connections require approval from both sides: the trainee verifies the coach's identity before requesting, and the coach approves every trainee.

Sessions belong to the trainee. A trainee can delete a sent session at any time, and it is removed from the coach's inbox immediately.

Troubleshooting

SymptomFix
No green banner on cloud.trueclays.com Make sure you are logged in to the website with the same e-mail you typed in the simulator.
Sign-in code expired Codes last 10 minutes — press Sign in again for a fresh one.
"Not signed in to TrueClays Cloud" Open the Coaching Panel and sign in for the active shooter profile.
Video doesn't appear when the coach presses Play Processing takes a minute or two after upload — try again shortly. If no video was uploaded, the replay plays alone.
Invite code rejected Codes are single-use and expire after 48 hours — ask the coach for a new one.
